Daily Energizer #1: The Power of Yes
Do you wake up EVERY morning saying YES towards your day ?
If not, then it’s time for Daily Energizer #1:
Plan on doing at least one thing each day that gives you YES energy.
Below are some options that may make your mind, body, heart or spirit say YES.
#1 Before you get out of bed pick a friend or colleague who makes you laugh, inspires you or generally uplifts you and plan to talk with them at some time during your day.
#2 Select something or someone you are grateful for and share it in some way: in-person, facebook, card, note, etc. (I’m doing that right now on facebook!)
#3 Decide on the quality you want to BE that day. Maybe you’ll want to be: courageous, joyous, peaceful, bold, compassionate, lighthearted, uplifting, or even patient? Enjoy the many opportunities that will arise as they’ll magically seem to appear!
#4 Imagine something you’d love to change in your environment that would make you feel better if it was done. Plan to take one small (or big step) in making that change. Ideas: Plants at work; inspiring images and/or messages at home or at work; clutter cleanup; positive recognition of family, friends or colleagues; or finding tasks to do that are more meaningful, challenging or creative.
Don’t worry about choosing the ultimate YES – just choose one thing to get the ball rolling – to give you something to look forward to in your day.
Be prepared to face resistance as it always takes more energy to change from being in an automatic mode of living your day the same way over and over again to doing things in a fresh way. However, once you start – you’ll be unstoppable with YES energy!
What do you want to say YES to in your life? Starting now, starting today?
Daily Energizers You Don’t Want to Miss

Everyone has felt like this in varying degrees. It’s normal and natural to have low energy and low enthusiasm at times.
What is NOT normal is to be this way for weeks and even months on end. When life becomes a struggle and getting out of bed becomes something you dread rather than relish, it’s time to make a change.
It’s TIME to establish your personal RHYTHMS OF RENEWAL.
Why get stuck in the problem when you can CHOOSE a solution that will elevate your life from feeling mired in the trenches to walking with a spring in your step and a smile in your heart? It is POSSIBLE.
This is not just positive thinking that ignores the circumstances and events of your life. I am not asking you to ignore your personal struggles and hardships. You have a story to tell which may not be pretty and uplifting and as a friend once said to me, Everyone’s hell is hot!
Instead, I am asking you to take your life (your story) right now as it stands and write a new chapter.
How? Get your toolkit stocked with DAILY ENERGIZERS that will change your perspective on life as well as your habits. Are these tools to be used EVERY day? Absolutely! YES, YES, and YES! When used REGULARLY they become LIFE-ENHANCING HABITS that increase your joy, energy and resilience.
For the next several weeks, I’ll be sharing tools that you may want to put in your TOOLKIT for RENEWAL. This is NOT a toolkit for HOW TO SURVIVE but for HOW TO THRIVE.
I hope you’ll choose to use at least 2-3 of the tools which I’ll be sharing and I’d absolutely love it if you let me know how they’re working in your PRECIOUS life.
Choose to Thrive and Love Life
One of my favorite quotes goes like this:
Never forget that you are one of a kind.
Never forget that if there weren’t any need for you in all your uniqueness to be on this earth, you wouldn’t be here in the first place.
And never forget, no matter how overwhelming life’s challenges and problems seem to be, that one person can make a difference in the world.
In fact, it is always because of one person that all the changes that matter in the world come about. So be that one person. ~ R. Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983)
I’d like to sum up this quote in a few words and here they are: PERSEVERE, PURPOSE and POWER.
PERSEVERE: No matter what life throws at you (in my case cancer and challenging relationships) perseverance builds character and character builds hope. (Romans 5:3) Those who persevere are rarely sitting on the sidelines complaining about how overwhelmed they are or how life has treated them poorly. Those who persevere have hope for a brighter day and are in the game embracing challenging situations and using them as defining moments for themselves and/or for others.
PURPOSE: We are not here by mistake. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Having a purpose and a calling greater than oneself gives you freedom from self-absorption. Those who turn their purpose into a vision experience greater confidence, focus and enthusiasm for their life and the life of others.
POWER: Each of us holds the power to influence those that we have been uniquely designed to impact. No two people have the identical talents, experiences, wisdom, and life messages. There is power in your uniqueness and once it is discovered, shared and optimized – LOOK OUT! You will move from a life of mere surviving to joyous thriving!
It is NEVER too late to live the life you were meant to live and impact the people you are meant to impact. Is it your time to start living a life with vision, of no regrets and of no excuse living?
To thrive and live a life of impact – a life that you love, I highly recommend A Leader’s Life Purpose Handbook, a book by Tony Stoltzfus which I use with my clients.
